Screenshots are the usual offender: a 4K PNG screenshot is easily 8–15 MB. Converted to WebP (this page's preset), the same screenshot lands around 300 KB–1 MB with text still crisp — Discord renders WebP natively.
Game screenshots, art and spoilers
For art shares, WebP at quality 90 preserves fine linework at a fraction of PNG's size. For photos, JPG or WebP at 80–85 is invisible in chat. For emoji, resize to 128 px (set Max width to 800 → then Discord scales down, or crop square first) and any output format stays far under 256 KB.
Privacy note: screenshots often contain usernames, emails or tokens. This compressor runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you drop here is ever uploaded to us — worth remembering before sharing anywhere.
