Everything you need

One tool for every image job

Compression, conversion and resizing — engineered to feel instant, because your own device does the work.

Compress JPG & PNG

Cut file sizes by 60–80% with no visible quality loss. Perfect for email attachments, listings, applications and slow uploads.

HEIC to JPG

Convert iPhone photos into universally supported JPG in one drop. No software install, no watermark, no limits.

Resize & WebP

Downscale to web-perfect dimensions and export WebP — 25–35% smaller than JPG. Better Core Web Vitals for your site.

Privacy by architecture

Your photos never leave your device

Most "free" compressors send your images to their servers. PixSquash was built so that it can't — there is no server to send them to.

Runs in your browser

Compression uses your device's built-in Canvas engine. Load the page, switch off your connection — it still works.

Safe for sensitive files

IDs, contracts, medical documents, family photos — nothing is transmitted, logged or stored anywhere.

Nothing to delete

No accounts, no history, no "we delete your files after 1 hour" promises. There's simply nothing to clean up.

How it works

Three steps. About five seconds.

1

Drop your images

Drag one photo or an entire folder's worth. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC all work — batch is unlimited.

2

Tune the output

Keep quality at 80–85% for invisible compression, pick WebP for the smallest web files, resize to 1920 px for screens.

3

Download instantly

Grab files one by one, or everything as a single ZIP. Since nothing uploads, there's no waiting on a progress bar.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress an image without losing quality?

Keep the quality slider at 80–85%. For photographs this typically cuts file size by 60–80% with no visible difference — JPG and WebP discard detail your eye can't perceive.

How do I convert HEIC to JPG for free?

Drop your HEIC files into the box above, set output to JPG, and download. The conversion runs entirely in your browser — no upload, no watermark, no limit.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Processing is 100% client-side. Your files never leave your computer or phone — you can verify this by loading the page and then switching off your connection. Everything still works.

What's the best image format for websites?

WebP. It compresses 25–35% smaller than JPG at equal quality and every modern browser supports it. Use JPG for maximum compatibility with older software, and PNG only when you need transparency.

Is there a limit on file size or number of images?

No hard limits. Because your own device does the work, you can batch-process dozens of images at once for free. Very large files (50 MP+) may take a few seconds each.

Does compressing an image reduce its dimensions?

Only if you want it to. "Max width" set to Original keeps pixel dimensions and only re-encodes the file. Choosing 1920 px downsizes anything larger — ideal for web and screen use.
